Pop, which is abbreviated from the word popular, is a genre of music that is lively and well known. It is also classified as a type of music that constantly changes. Songs that make it to the top music charts are already considered as pop. It is a mixture of elements like urban, jazz, and dance. It could also be said that it makes use of other genres of music to create a pop song that creates a big hit to the crowd. A pop song usually has expressed meanings or thoughts from the singers and writers which is expressed in a dynamic tempo.

Pop music has different comments and critics based on different perspectives.

People are fond of it because of its vigorous and energetic tempo. This is a major reason why people tune in to pop. With this kind of beat, they are subjected to be jolly and active. One example of this is dancing to the beat. The movements in dancing are based on to what the tempo of the song is. For example, a pop music is danced in an energetic and fast manner called street or pop dance while country music is danced in a smooth, slow, and precise manner like the folk dance.

People sometimes dislike pop music because of its song composition. Some songs contain foul words that offend the listeners. In addition to this, they also abhor it because it influences the youth in using lewd and indecent words.  Some other reasons are the meaning behind the lyrics. It may contain hidden messages that are bad influences to the people who might get the hidden message especially the youth.

In short, Pop music varies to the kind of perspective a person likes. But for most teenagers, it is a must-hear music genre. Do not mind the meaning, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the music.
